Back to school in Dordogne: "With reversible air conditioning, we have to tell people that we're getting good heating"

Like many professionals, Green House, a company specializing in carpentry and heating and air conditioning systems in Trélissac, is responding to increasing demand, particularly during heatwaves.
" We often get panic calls on very hot days. Many people don't plan ahead. This August, for the first time in eleven years, we didn't close," says Baptiste Petit, director of Green House in Trélissac, a company specializing in carpentry and economical heating and air conditioning systems in the Dordogne region.
The increased interest in air conditioning is a reality in Périgord, confirmed by many professionals. This interest is often correlated with environmental awareness. "People in the Dordogne are educated about ecology; they don't want to pollute. We often hear, 'We've been resisting for ten years, but now it's no longer possible.' And demand comes more from older people or parents of young children than from young single people," smiles Alex Marta, sales manager at Green House.
Energy savingsGreen House, founded in 2014, now has 10 employees and a turnover of €2.5 million. The company provides comprehensive solutions for energy savings and eco-friendly renovations. 90% of its customers are individuals, mostly living in houses, but also in apartments. The company, which is RGE (recognized guarantor of the environment), Qualibat & Qualipac, can help its customers benefit from government aid and handle the numerous and constantly evolving aid applications .
"We offer reversible air-to-air heat pumps, a system that's not very expensive to install, with quality brands like Mitsubishi. Overall, we air condition for a maximum of 10-15 days a year, and then we use reversible heating. We need to tell people that it's good heating, efficient, quiet, and among the most economical. Consumption can be divided by three. Compared to the heating savings [Editor's note: the heat pump restores five times more than it consumes], and the comfort provided, the cost remains quite low. The average basket, a high-power quality range, is €3,000 for a monosplit air conditioning unit [Editor's note: an indoor unit and an outdoor unit], in an 80 m² house, in the living room for example. And on this amount, the customer benefits from assistance of between €100 and €700," estimates Baptiste Petit, co-creator and director of Green House. An investment which, along with others, can also help you gain letters on the energy performance diagnosis (DPE) of the home.
In a context where the State wants to gradually eliminate fossil fuels (gas, fuel oil), the customers who knock on the door often come with a specific project: installation of a reversible air conditioner, an air-to-water heat pump or a thermodynamic water heater, or even installation of PVC joinery. "We handle projects from diagnosis to completion, and if it's a thermal sieve, we will obviously examine all the insulation items. The only thing we don't do is wall insulation," explains the business owner.
The comprehensive renovations have enabled the organization to increase its turnover by 10 to 15% each year. Another ecological argument highlighted by professionals: "hyper-advanced" waste sorting.
